My first free issue arrived today.
I earned a bunch of theoretical points at Recycle Bank, the website that theoretically encourages you to recycle more. Considering that they encouraged me to get this magazine for which I would never pay, the fossil fuels for transporting the magazine to my door and the amount of glossy paper to be recycled, I'm not sure how well they're actually doing.
My excuse is that I'm getting the magazine as a gift for Bethany. I had it mailed to me so that I could peruse its wonders before I pass it on.
Martha has a very cunning tip for stacking teacups. Instead of stacking the saucers together in one pile and then stacking the cups in several precarious piles, she stacks them as sets.

I thought that was pretty clever, should I ever have teacups and saucers to stack.
Which I don't.

Hemisphere Gold Striped teacups: $118 each.
Saucers: $102 each.
Yes, that is real gold.
They're probably not even dishwasher safe.
Only Martha would think that those prices are anything but hilarious!
I don't have a lot of teacups and saucers to stack, nor do I have the room for them. And at that price - I never will! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a bunch of tea cups and saucers that we inherited from Max's grand mother. I stacked them that way in my china hutch only because they are all different and pretty and I wanted them to be seen by all. Who knew I was Martha Stewart approved?
ReplyDeleteI don't even think those stripey things are pretty. I've seen much cuter teacups at TJ Maxx on sale for five bucks. I have some fancy (not expensive, although one set did come from Harrod's in London, not that I'VE ever been there) teacups with matching saucers but I leave them out on a shelf. They're seldom used. I have some coffee cups and saucers that came with my dishes and they don't sit stacked the way Martha's do. They hardly ever get used at all either. I prefer a mug for my morning joe.
