Way back in the beginning of my blogging career, like a whole year ago, one of my friends commented that she liked my blog, but the political stuff, not so much. Wanting to not offend (because I do try to not be like a brick) I toned down my political comments.
Well, you know what?
That particular friend quit reading me anyway.
And.
I don't care any more.
It's time for all of us to stand up and be counted.
Rightnetwork.com.
It's all about what is good in America today.
Second good thing, I wanted to remind you about FreeRice, the website that donates rice to hungry people as you increase your vocabulary. They have just upgraded and revamped their operation and it's worth a few minutes of your time.
Every day.
Their banner to the right has quit working and I'm trying to find out why. It may be a victim of the upgrade.
(Edit: It's working again, hooray!)
And third good thing, just because I can.
Because it's my blog!
Edwin, holding baby Elsie.
Me not holding baby Elsie.
Me not holding baby Elsie.
Ditto.
Ditto.
Get it?
Nine more days.
Not that I'm counting or anything.
Oh, she what a yummy baby!
ReplyDeleteB-UUUUUU-tiful baby!
ReplyDeleteKeep counting! I would be too. She is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing with that hair, Elsie gave Annie some MEGA heartburn.
ReplyDelete...I wanna hold her too!
That kid exceeds the legal limits of cuteness.
ReplyDeleteAnd your arms are conspicuously empty of her, so chop chop Nana.
And yeah ... yeahyeah ... your blog, your say. End of story.
Early in my inauspicious blogging career I got a very instructive email from someone I thought was a good friend. I had made fun of some inane comment made by some knee-jerk lib celebrity -- Sheryl Crow, if I remember correctly, and pardon me while I gag -- and my "friend" took serious umbrage.
To which I responded, he who pays is he who says (and "says" rhymes with "pays" there or it doesn't sound as funny) and he (well, she) who pays is me and I'll be the one who says what goes on my blog.
To which she responded, you know, Jenny, I just don't think you're a nice person.
OK. I can meet God with that ... as long as I tell the truth.
And so can you, Hobbit! Woman loose thy tongue!
BTW I am a nice person.
I love to read your political views and thoughts. I love reading everything you put on your blog. I don't think you should cater to what your readers may or may not like. It is your blog after all and I think it's good to put what you want. If the readers can't objectively read your thoughts and still keep their own opinion, it's their problem. I for one, enjoy reading other peoples points of view. Maybe I will learn something new or look at something from a new perspective that will change my opinion. But if I am not open to reading then I am not open to changing.
ReplyDeleteBTW, your granddaughter is beautiful. I hope the days fly by quickly until you can be by her side and then slow w a y down while you are there.
