What are the odds?

My bloggy friend Mari is doing a giveaway. Her husband, Bob, makes sweet carved wooden figures of the type I adore, especially his Santas. So go here  if you want to enter.

There.
I'm not sure if I just reduced my chances of winning or not.
Because I really want that St. Nickolaus.

I did win a can of dried bell peppers once in a giveaway.
But St. Nick would be much more fun.

Speaking of fun, check out this photo of Daniel from a couple of weeks ago. He spent the night at our house and discovered his Mom's name in the front of one of the children's books on the bookshelf. He went through the whole lot and separated out all of Bethany's books.

And took them home with him.
The nerve, I say!

  1. Those carvings are COOL! And since it probably wouldn't last a day at my place you can have my winnings, if I win...

  2. Sometimes kids are fascinated with the notion that their parents were kids and didn't spring full grown from nothing. They enjoy, the "proof", to say nothing of what Bethany was reading at the time! Also, reminder for your concert tonight...it is officially tomorrow you know!! hehehe

  5. Anything that encourages reading! Up to and including pillaging!

I want that St. Nick too. But I doubt lightning will strike me twice ... I won Donna M.'s book giveaway back in September!

I need to do me a blog giveaway. Maybe that's how we'll spice up January, a month I loathe.

  6. I love those carvings! Especially St. Nicholas! What talent! Too funny about Daniel. Katana is always amazed when she comes across books that were mine. It's like she surprised they had books when I was a kids or something. Too funny.
